Morristown, NJ February 29, 2004--Vintage fashion and sewing enthusiasts can learn to make clothing patterns the same way Great-grandmother did, as New York City Tea Society Executive Director Shenlei Winkler guides participants through the process of creating a custom-sized Edwardian bodice or blouse pattern. The seminar will be held Saturday, April 3, from 12-4 p.m. at Acorn Hall, 68 Morris Avenue, Morristown, NJ. Tickets are $35 a person, with attendance limited to ten people. Additional information and a list of necessary supplies will be e-mailed to participants. Contact Tracy Zengro, Program Manager, at 973-267-3465 to reserve a place.

Most women of the 19th century were expected to be able to make their own clothes. During this program, participants will create a bodice or blouse pattern using the Voice of Fashion magazine's scaled drafting system.

Authentic Edwardian garments will be on view to show period details. The Morris County Historical Society maintains a large collection of men's, women's and children's clothing and accessories dating from the 1840s to the 1970s. Items from the collection are frequently displayed throughout Acorn Hall.
