VIDCAT Makes Fashion News History...Launches Special Edition DVD "Fashion Flashbacks!"



May 8, 2004--The Video Catalogue Co., Inc. (VIDCAT) is releasing the Special Edition DVD of one of its most popular video titles “Fashion Flashbacks!” The one-hour compilation of classic B&W fashion newsreels from the 1950s-1960s features the top designer fashions and looks of both decades. Highlights of the program include psychedelic Pucci dresses, Mod Pierre Cardin ensembles, Rudi Gernreich bathing suits and Christian Dior floral dresses.

The Special Edition DVD version of “Fashion Flashbacks!” includes a menu and various chapters that allow viewers to easily navigate the newsreels. “We reformatted the program on DVD so that viewers can click on a specific year, decade or category and have instant access to a particular newsreel,” says Janet Pytowski, President VIDCAT. Additional style-related footage from the VIDCAT archives was added to the DVD, including vintage cars and futuristic homes newsreels.

VIDCAT plans to release two more DVD titles this year including “Fashion Flashbacks! The 80s” and “Sports Flashbacks!” “We have a large video archive of vintage and contemporary footage that is just perfect for documenting fashion history as it happened,” says Pytowski.
